Teresa Charles Ritchie, 1946-2001
Terry Charles was a friend of mine. At Spartanburg High she was an excellent student, as she was at Clemson, as she was at the University of Virginia, where she earned her PhD. She was a neuroscientist who made real contributions to Science.
And while she was a thoroughly rational human being, she was also an idealist. At times amazingly so, I thought.

Her husband, Brian Ritchie, was a naval aviator who died during the Vietnam era. She must have missed Brian in ways the rest of us could never imagine. She's survived by her daughter Lynn and a grandson. Lynn has her father's smile.
I'm proud to have known Terry. She was a friend of mine.
